What Amazon Global Selling is
Amazon Global Selling lets Indian businesses list products on Amazon marketplaces abroad, such as the US, UK and UAE, and sell directly to customers there. Handicrafts, home textiles, jewellery, spices, ayurvedic and beauty products are popular Indian exports.
Registrations you need
- IEC from DGFT, linked to your PAN.
- GST registration, plus a Letter of Undertaking (LUT) filed on the GST portal each financial year so you can export without paying IGST upfront.
- A bank account that can receive export payments.
Choose products that travel well
Start with light, durable products with good margins. Check the destination's rules: many countries regulate food, cosmetics, children's products and electronics, and marketplaces may ask for test reports or certificates for some categories.
Two ways to ship
- Send stock to Amazon's warehouses abroad (FBA). A freight forwarder moves your goods by air or sea, and Amazon stores, packs and delivers each order. Delivery is fast, but you pay storage and fulfilment fees.
- Ship each order yourself. You send orders by international courier from India. It needs less money upfront, but delivery takes longer.

Paperwork and costs
Every export needs a commercial invoice and packing list, and a shipping bill filed with Indian customs (your forwarder or courier usually does this). Some shipments need a certificate of origin. Budget for Amazon's referral and fulfilment fees, international freight, import duties in the destination country, and returns.
